Student Publishing Process

A Structured Path to Becoming a Published Author

At Cloverly Collegiate, we help students stand out through a structured book publishing process in the competitive college admissions process. In just six weeks, students transform their ideas into a professionally published book under the guidance of an experienced editorial coach.

This is more than just a student book publishing program—it is a unique publishing process that distinguishes students as published authors, showcasing their creativity, organization, and commitment to completing a meaningful project.

Each student receives personalized mentorship through weekly video conferences with an editorial coach, ensuring their work is refined, structured, and publication-ready.

How the Cloverly Book Publishing Process Works

Initial Step: Laying the Foundation

  • Student submits a one-page outline summarizing the book's concept and potential titles.
  • This serves as the foundation for the structured publishing process ahead.

Week 1: Structuring the Manuscript

  • Up to a two-hour video conference with an editorial coach to review the book idea, refine the concept, and create a detailed manuscript outline.
  • The outline includes chapter names and summaries, establishing a roadmap for the book.
  • The student reviews the detailed manuscript outline before moving to the next stage.

Week 2: Developing the First Chapters

  • Up to a two-hour video conference to discuss and refine the manuscript outline.
  • Once finalized, the student begins drafting the first third of the book with guidance from the editorial coach.
  • The focus is on ensuring clarity, structure, and alignment with the student’s vision.

Week 3: Editing & Strengthening the First Section

  • Up to a two-hour video conference to review, edit, and refine the first third of the manuscript.
  • The editorial coach provides structured feedback, helping the student improve narrative flow and coherence.
  • The student applies revisions to enhance readability and quality.

Week 4: Expanding the Manuscript

  • Up to a two-hour video conference to review and develop the second third of the book.
  • The student works closely with the editorial coach to refine ideas and maintain consistency across chapters.
  • Edits ensure the content remains engaging, well-structured, and aligned with the publishing process.

Week 5: Completing the Manuscript & Book Design

  • Up to a two-hour video conference to finalize the last third of the book
  • The student also reviews and approves:
  • Front cover design
  • Back cover blurb
  • About the Author
  • The full manuscript is polished, meeting professional book publishing standards.

Week 6: Publishing & Distribution

  • The final manuscript is professionally formatted for print and eBook distribution.
  • The book is uploaded to Cloverly Book Publishing’s print vendors for retail hard copy and digital availability.
  • A case of 25 hardcover copies is shipped directly to the student.
  • At this stage, the student officially joins the ranks of published authors.
